Social Worker Duties
- Conduct complex case work, delivering support that meets the highest standards and promotes positive outcomes.
- Prepare and present reports to meetings, conferences, and courts, adhering to agreed standards.
- Work within the statutory framework, complying with Directorate policies, procedures, and guidance.
- Maintain excellent safeguarding standards for Children or Vulnerable Adults, promptly reporting concerns to the Team Manager.
- Champion high standards of professional practice by monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating interventions to improve service user outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date computer and written records in line with Directorate guidelines.
- Chair, minute, and/or participate in meetings related to service users.
- Foster effective working relationships with external partners, agencies, and other sections of the Directorate to enhance practice and outcomes.
- Provide advice and guidance on policies and services, ensuring the meaningful involvement of service users through working groups and meetings.
- Administer petty cash in accordance with Authority and Directorate financial regulations and procedures.
- Ensure a healthy, safe, and secure environment, adhering to the Council’s policies and procedures.
- Promote and implement the Council’s Equality Policy in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
Your Requirements
- Possess a recognized Social Work Qualification, such as CQSW, CSS, DipSW, or a Degree in Social Work, with a minimum of 3 to 4 years of post-qualification experience in field work or related areas.
- Demonstrate effective assessment, planning, and evaluation skills, ensuring that our service users receive the highest quality care and support.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Community Care Act and Social Care legislation, along with familiarity with current safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Experience in developing community care packages and implementing Self-Directed Support initiatives to empower individuals in their care.
- Show a deep commitment to promoting the rights of older people, advocating for their well-being and ensuring their needs are met.
- Able to review and evaluate service delivery, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies for enhanced outcomes.
- Excellent record-keeping and report writing skills, proficient in utilizing electronic data information systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Proven experience in collaborating with service users, carers, service providers, and other professionals, fostering strong partnerships to deliver comprehensive support.
- Effective communication and liaison skills, enabling seamless coordination with external agencies and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our service users.
